Rides and Attractions

NEW FOR 2007!  JOURNEY TO ATLANTIS
This thrilling family ride, the first of its kind in the U.S.A., combines the elements of a traditional roller coaster and water ride. Guests will board sixteen passenger boats and proceed up the first plateau, rotating 360 degrees at the top to experience a breathtaking view of San Antonio and SeaWorld from their 100-foot-high position. The boats will spin and then be propelled backwards down a reverse camelback. At the crest of the second hill, the boats rotate again before plunging down the final hill and splashing into a lake and through geysers and water spouts.

THE STEEL EEL
This hypercoaster, the only one of its kind in the Southwest, delivers the heart-pounding periods of weightlessness or “air time” coaster enthusiasts crave. From its 150-foot first drop and full camelback hill to its 44-degree banked and S-curves, “The Steel Eel” is packed with state-of-the-art ride features.  This three-minute adventure flies along 3,700 feet of track and delivers a top speed of 65 mph.

THE GREAT WHITE
Texas’ first inverted roller coaster sends its riders head over heels while traveling more than 2,500 feet of breathtaking loops, spirals and corkscrews. The two-minute flight also features a maximum drop of 81 feet (more than eight stories) and zero G-roll (weightlessness).

THE SHAMU EXPRESS FAMILY COASTER
“The Shamu Express,” a roller coaster for the entire family, features six adorable Shamu cars, holds two passengers each and glides along more than 220 feet of track at speeds up to 14 mph.  Beginning coaster riders, young and old, can build their confidence.

TEXAS SPLASHDOWN
This towering flume ride, the longest and tallest in the Lone Star State, drenches guests from beginning to end.  Four-passenger boats float guests through a twisting, turning, half-mile route and take two plunges from as high as five stories.

RIO LOCO
Rio Loco is the ultimate ride for many guests hoping to cool down and do some river-running.  Six-person circular rafts take on the 1,800-foot crazy river navigating unexpected dips and bends along the way.  No rapids ride is complete without a narrow escape through a drenching waterfall.

LOST LAGOON
There is no better escape from the summer heat than SeaWorld San Antonio’s Lost Lagoon water park.  This hideaway transports SeaWorld guests to a tropical paradise of crashing surf, slides, hidden lagoons, inviting beaches and swaying palms.  A trip to Lost Lagoon is a complete beach experience for everyone:  from thrill seekers and beach bums to sun worshipers and water lovers.
